Groups will visit classrooms and observe teachers and students engaged in daily routines. Tour participants will also have the opportunity to hear about Keys from a current Keys parent. Tours are approximately 1 hour in length and are intended for adults only (infants welcome).
Tour Dates and Times 2011-2012:
PARENT INTERVIEWEach applicant family is asked to schedule a parent interview with one of our admission team members once they have completed an application. This is an opportunity for us to learn more about your family and the applicant as well as a time for you to ask any unanswered questions about Keys and the application process. We value this part of our process as it helps us to know you and how you would fit into our family community.
STUDENT VISIT (Kindergarten applicants)Kindergarten applicants visit Keys in small groups and spend a morning with our Kindergarten teachers and admission team. We recognize that visiting in a new school can be scary and we work hard to make this visit experience safe and positive for children. During this visit, applicants will experience group time, projects and free play as well as a brief snack. Parents may attend a New Parent Coffee during the first hour of the child's visit (9-10 a.m.). At this gathering, current Keys parents are present to answer qustions and discuss their experience at Keys. Visits can be scheduled once an application is submitted.
STUDENT VISIT (1st-4th grade applicants)Students applying to 1st-4th grades visit for a half or full day with their current grade level. During the visit, applicants will have a current Keys student assigned as a buddy and they will be able to take part in various classes and activities throughout the course of a typical day at Keys. In addition, the student will have a brief meeting with a Keys faculty member, at which time his or her academic level will be assessed. Visits can be scheduled once an application is submitted.
