Annual Fund
The heart of philanthropy at Keys School is participation in the Annual Fund. Representing 10% of our operating budget, tax-deductible gifts made to this Fund help today by providing critical funding to bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of educating a student.
Like most independent schools, Keys relies upon philanthropic support to provide exceptional academic and social-emotional experiences. To address the difference between tuition income and the full cost of educating each child, rather than raise tuition dramatically from year-to-year, we use the Annual Fund to support the school's operating budget. This year, the gap between tuition and the true cost of educating one student is approximately $3,000.
Each fall, parent volunteers reach out to other parents to encourage participation. The staff, faculty, and Board of Trustees lead the way by pledging their commitment early in the school year. We strive for 100% participation among our Keys School families, regardless of the size of their gift.
Every gift, no matter what the size, is significant and takes us one step closer to our goal.
- This year's Annual Fund goal is $325,000.
- We are striving for 100% Annual Fund participation from current families, as well as teachers, staff, and the Board of Trustees. In 2008–2009, 85 percent of our families contributed to the Annual Fund, with 100% participation from the Board of Trustees.
- Annual Fund gifts:
- Ensure the rich diversity of our Keys community by enabling the school to keep tuition increases at a minimum each year.
- Support competitive faculty salaries to attract and retain the best teachers.
- Greatly enhance our ability to provide scholarship assistance to over 15 percent of our families each year.
- Matching Gifts: Ask if your employer will match your donation. A partial list of corporations that are known to match donations is available. Consult your benefits or HR representative to see if your company matches donations.
- Every Annual Fund gift is a vote of confidence for Keys' ability to deliver a quality education for our students!
Ways to Make a Gift
- Secure online giving is now available for gifts of $25 or more.
- Checks should be payable to "Keys School", indicate the type of donation you are making (Annual Fund, Endowment or Campaign) and sent to the address below or dropped off at the School Office (recommended for cash donations).
- Credit Card (VISA, MC, AMEX, Discover) payments can be made online, mailed in, or called into our Development Office at the number below.
- To make a contribution by phone, or if you have questions, contact the Development Office at 650-328-1711.
- Securities can be transferred directly to Keys by instructing your broker. Simply give the following transfer information:
